पाठ्यचर्या में भाषा (भाग-1)

इकाई-1 वर्णनात्मक और विवरणात्मक लेखन से जुड़ाव

1 चयनित पाठों में काल्पनिक, नाट्य घटनाओं, सजीव विवरणात्मक लेखों या सुउत्पादित हास्य स्ट्रिप स्टोरी (कहानियों) की ओर से कहानियाँ या अध्याय सम्मिलित हो सकते हैं।

प्रस्तावित गतिविधियाँ

2 पढ़ने के लिए बोधगम्यता एवं दृष्यमान काल्पनिक पठन (व्यक्तिगत सह समूह वाचन तथा वाद विवाद/व्याख्या)

3 पुनर्कथन लेखन-किसी व्यक्ति के स्वयं के शब्दों में। विभिन्न दृष्टिकोण से (किसी छोटे समूह की ओर मुड़ते हुए)

4 किसी व्यक्ति के जीवन अनुभव से सम्बन्धित वर्णन व्याख्या। (किसी छोटे समूह के सामने)

5 पात्रों के चरित्र एवं परिस्थितियों पर परिचर्चा-अर्थाें और दृष्टिकोणों को साझा करना (किसी छोटे समूह में)

6 लेखन आधारित पाठ, उदाहरणस्वरूप दृष्य का सारांष, कहानी का बर्हिबेषन, किसी स्थिति को किसी संवाद में परिवर्तित करना, इत्यादि (व्यक्तिगत कार्य)

इकाई-2 प्रसिद्ध विषय आधारित व्याख्यात्मक लेखन से जुड़ाव

चयनित पाठों में आलेख, जीवन सम्बन्धी लेखन या प्रसिद्ध गैर काल्पनिक लेखन से सार उन विषयवस्तुओं सहित सम्मिलित हो सकते हैं जिन्हें छात्र षिक्षक के विषय क्षेत्रों से ग्रहण किया है (विभिन्न विज्ञान, गणित, इतिहास, भूगोल, साहित्य/भाषा अंष) इस इकाई के लिए, छात्र षिक्षकों को उन समूहों में कार्य करना चाहिए जिन्हें उनके विषयों के अनुसार विभाजित किया गया हो, जिनके अन्दर विभिन्न पाठों की छात्र-षिक्षक के  विभिन्न युग्मों द्वारा पढ़ा जा सके।

प्रस्तावित गतिविधियाँ

1 समग्र अर्थ, जानकारी, विषय ज्ञान का सार निकालने के लिए पाठन (युग्मों और आसान नोट बनाने में मार्गदर्षन युक्त पाठन)

2 उन प्रमुख परिकल्पनाओं और विचारों को पहचानना जिन्हें सम्मिलित किया गया और कुछ योजनाबद्ध स्वरूप में इन पर नोट्स बनाना-फ्लो (प्रवाह), आरेख, ट्री (वृक्ष), आरेख, माइण्ड मैप (मस्तिष्क नक्षा) आदि। (युग्मों में          मार्गदर्षन युक्त करना)

3 पाठ/विषय के सार की दूसरों के लिए व्यााख्या करना (बड़े विषय समूह में)  लेखन शैली, विषय-विषिष्ट शब्दकोष और ‘परिप्रेक्ष्य’ या ‘सन्दर्भ संरचना’ में भाग लेना जिसमें विभिन्न विषयों को प्रस्तुत किया जाता है-यह सम्पूर्ण            विषयों और पाठों में भिन्न होंगे और प्रत्येक पाठ के प्रसंग को ‘रखने के लिए’ कुछ व्याख्यात्मक कौषलों की आवष्यकता होती है। (समूह चर्चा और साझाकरण) टिप्पणियों एवं वैचारिकता के साथ पाठ की समीक्षा या सारांष            लिखना (व्यक्तिगत कार्य)

इकाई-3 पत्रकारिता लेखन से जुड़ाव

1 चयनित पाठों में समकालीन रुचि के विषयों पर समाचार-पत्र या पत्रिका आलेख सम्मिलित होंगे।

2 छात्र-षिक्षकों को इस इकाई के लिए यादृच्छिक रूप से समूहीकृत किया जा सकता है।

प्रस्तावित गतिविधियाँ

1 जानकारी का सार निकालने के लिए पाठन नीतियों का उपयोग करना, जैसे स्कैनिंग, स्किमिंग और पठन (रीडिंग)-आलेखों के प्रारम्भिक पाठन के लिए जैसा उचित हो (निर्देषित व्यक्तिगत कार्य)

2 आलेख की संरचना का विष्लेषण, उप-षीर्षकों को पहचानना, की-वर्ड (मुख्य शब्द), विचारों को क्रम देना, ठोस विवरणों, चित्रांकनों, और/या सांख्यिकीय प्रस्तुतीकरण का उपयोग, आदि (युग्मों में निर्देषित कार्य करना)

3 आलेख की ‘फ्रेमिंग’ प्रस्तुत किए गए दृष्टिकोण, सम्भावित विचारों या झुकावों में भाग लेने के लिए गम्भीर पाठन (छोटी समूह चर्चा)

4 स्थानीय रुचि के विषयों पर शोध करना और आलेखों को लिखना (किसी स्थानीय रुचि पत्रिका का निर्माण करने के लिए कार्य करना)

Syllabus

LANGUAGE ACROSS THE CURRICULUM (PART 1)

Unit 1: Engaging with Narrative and Descriptive Accounts

The selected texts could include stories or chapters from fiction, dramatic incidents, vivid descriptive accounts, or even well-produced comic strip stories.

Suggested Activities

·         Reading for comprehending and visualizing the account (individual plus group reading and discussion/explanation)

·         Re-telling the account – in one's own words/from different points of view (taking turns in a smaller group)

·         Narrating/describing a related account from one's life experience (in front of a smaller group)

·         Discussion of characters and situations – sharing interpretations and points of view (in a smaller group)

·         Writing based on the text, e.g. summary of a scene, extrapolation of story, converting a situation into a dialogue, etc. (individual task).

UNIT 2: Engaging with Popular Subject-Based Expository Writing

The selected texts could include articles, biographical writing, or extracts from popular non-fiction writing, with themes that are drawn from the subject areas of the student teachers (various sciences, mathematics, history, geography, literature/language pieces) For this Unit, the student-teachers should work in groups divided according to their subjects, within which different texts could be read by different pairs of student-teachers.

Suggested Activities

·         Reading to extract overall meaning, information, subject knowledge (guided reading in pairs and simple note making)

·         Identifying major concepts and ideas involved and making notes on these in some schematic form – flow diagram, tree diagram, mind map, etc. (guided working in pairs)

·         Explaining the gist of the text/topic to others (in the larger subject group)

·         Attending the writing style, subject-specific vocabulary and 'perspective' or 'reference frame' in which different topics are presented—this will vary across subjects and texts, and requires some interpretative skills for 'placing' the context of each text (group discussion and sharing)

·         Writing a review or a summary of the text, with comments and opinions (individual task)

Unit 3: Engaging with Journalistic Writing

The selected texts would include newspaper or magazine articles on topics of contemporary interest. Student-teachers can be grouped randomly for this Unit.

Suggested Activities

·         Using reading strategies, such as scanning, skimming and reading for extracting information – as appropriate for initial reading of articles (guided individual task)

·         Analysis of structure of the article, identifying sub-headings, key words, Page 17 of 116 sequencing of ideas, use of concrete details, illustrations and/or statistical representations, etc. (guided working in pairs)

·         Critical reading for attending 'framing' of the article, point(s) of view presented, possible biases or slants (small group discussion)

·         Researching and writing articles on topics of local interest (working to produce a local interest magazine).
